All I want for Christmas

All I want for Christmas

It would be really tempting for me to make a long list of work out gear, gift cards and techie things that I would love to get this Christmas. No matter how hard you try, the consumerism is difficult to escape.

However, I don’t really need any of those things this Christmas (and it’s doubtful I will get anything from my list anyway).

What I really want for Christmas is for people that I have come to love dearly to have what they need.

To have the food they need for each day.

The Sheridan Story is a non-profit that has birthed out of my community, Mill City Church.

In 2010, The Sheridan School where we worship on Sundays told us that they were having a significant problem.

Kids were stealing food and taking food out of the trash on Fridays because they were facing such severe food insecurity on the weekends.

For the last 5 years we have been sending food home on the weekends for every child who needs it.

I have come to know and love these kids as I have been with them every week mentoring and volunteering.

These are my neighbors.

There are now over 70 schools that churches like mine have sponsored to make sure no child is hungry!

All I want for Christmas is for you to sponsor just one Sheridan School student this year!

It’s only $12 a month to feed a child and their family every Friday.

Would you consider joining me in sponsoring a Sheridan Student?

If you join in, consider that the best Christmas gift you could give me this year!
